Mary E. Ferguson

Mary E. Ferguson, 86, of Middleburg, FL, passed away Monday, November 24, 2008. She was born on December 27, 1921 in Ashland, KY to parents, Theodore and Emma Wells. She had been a newspaper editor for the Corps of Engineers and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Ferguson had resided in the Clay County area since January of 1967 and had lived in Middleburg for the past 20 years. She was a member of Women of the Moose and loved quilting, crocheting and knitting. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Con C. Ferguson and is survived by her children, David Ferguson, Robert Ferguson (Judith), Mary Gersten (Dennis) and Betty Lewandowski (Pete); sister-in-law, Mary Wells; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, November 28, 2008 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. The family will receive friends in the chapel from 11:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Russell Haven of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32257.
