Gianna Ashley Asencio

Gianna Ashley Asencio, 14, of Fleming Island FL, passed away January 29, 2015. She was born October 12, 2000, in West Islip, NY to parents Jason and Lisabeth (Lawrence) Asencio. Gianna moved to Fleming Island with her family in July of 2014 from Long Island, NY and attended Fleming Island High School. She was a cheerleader with the Island Allstars and gymnast at Elite Gymnast. Gianna was known for having a kind heart, beautiful smile and being her mother’s sweet angel. She had a passion for photography, loved music and would brighten everyone’s day. Gianna was an amazing daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend. Gianna will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her parents; sisters, Alexus & Vanessa; grandparents, Papa Ruben & Mama Marie, Meama Eva, Pampa Charlie & Grandma Cassandra; her great-grandmother, Nana Antonia; Aunt Marisa & Uncle Rob, Aunt Yvonne & Uncle Marc, Aunt Rachel & Uncle Rene, Aunt Melissa & Uncle Patrick, Aunt Rebecca, Aunt Heather & Uncle Anthony, Uncle Ryan, Uncle Brett and Uncle C.J., as well as numerous cousins and close friends. A Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Fleming Island followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 7190 Highway 17 South, Fleming Island, FL 32003 with Father Donal Sullivan as Celebrant. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, FL (904) 284-4000.
