James L. Hillard

James L. Hillard, Sr., 79, of Orange Park, FL, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2008. He was born on July 9, 1929 in Pittsfield, MA to parents, William and Josephine Hillard. He was a painter, roofer and sider by trade and was of the Christian faith. He dearly loved the Lord and will be missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Josephine Hillard and children, Thomas and Dorothy Taylor. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Marilyn Hillard; sons, James Lawrence Hillard, Jr. of Pittsfield, MA, Richard Taylor of Palatka, FL, James Lawrence Hillard, III of Jacksonville, FL; daughters, Cheryl Jackson of Mechanicsville, NY, Debra Taylor of Cromwell, CT and Marilyn Coleman of Orange Park, FL; 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, December 1, 2008 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Craig Bowen of Lakeside Community Church officiating. Visitation will be in the chapel one hour prior to the service.
