Dorothy "Dottie" Green Benson

Dorothy “Dottie” Green Benson January 16, 1922 – February 1, 2015 Dottie passed away February 1, 2015 in the Katherine Smith Hall at the age of 93. She was born to Walter and Anna Vachon on January 16, 1922 in Lawrence, Massachusetts. Dottie married Mr. Moe Green on November 22, 1940 in New York. They had three children, Jade, Richard and Pamela. They enjoyed 37 years of marriage before his passing on November 28, 1977. Dottie said he was a wonderful husband and father. She and her husband owned and operated a package store in Cumberland, MD. Dottie became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in 1978 when she joined Fort Myers Beach, FL Chapter 551. She came to Moosehaven on February 19, 2002 where she resided for 13 years. Dottie met and married Moosehaven resident, Russell Benson on October 12, 2002. He passed away on March 5, 2010. Dottie will be laid to rest by her first husband and father of her children, Moe Green in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens in LaVale, Maryland. She is survived by her three children, Jade Sanders of Fort Myers, FL, Richard Green of Old Town, FL and Pamela Green of Fort Myers, FL.
