Richard "Dick" F. Mason, Sr.

Richard “Dick” F. Mason, Sr., 76, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away Monday, February 16, 2015. He was born on April 2, 1938 in Salisbury, MD to the late Roy F. and Bertha L. (Pilchard) Mason. Dick was a member of the First Baptist Church of Orange Park. He was an avid reader, a loving father and a loving grandfather. Dick was a devoted husband to his late wife, Joann H. Mason and always put family before all else. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his brother-in-law, Johnny Lee Taylor. Dick is survived by his children, Rick F. Mason, Jr. (Tami), Lewonna Jernigan (Wesley) & Amy Santapau (Jim); sister, Norma Lee Taylor; and grandchildren, Walter & Aaron Jernigan, Joanna & Jordan Santapau, Mackenzie, Olivia, Reagan & Kennedy Mason. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, February 19, 2015 at The First Baptist Church of Orange Park with Reverend Skipper Rodgers officiating. Interment will be held on Friday, February 20, 2015 at Empire Cemetery in Mascotte, FL.
