Willie Jay Turley

Willie Jay Turley “Butterbean”, 67, passed away February 16, 2015. He was born on March 8, 1947 in Birmingham, AL to parents, George and Fannie (Simmons) Turley. Mr. Turley was a dairyman and a lifelong resident of the area. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and Congregational Holiness Church. Mr. Turley loved to fish, shop at Wal-Mart and eat at Golden Corral and Red Lobster. He was always tinkering with things and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Lonia D. Turley; children, Willie Paul Turley, Rebecca Pugh (Michael) and Shirlene Elkins (Derral) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, February 20, 2015 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Congregational Holiness Church with Rev. Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
