Marvin passed away February 24, 2015 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 85.
He was born to Guevera and Erba Merriam on January 26, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Marvin married Agnes Jewell on June 9, 1972 and was blessed with three stepsons, Douglas, Dale and David Jewell and a stepdaughter Donna.
He served in the Michigan Air National Guard during the Korean War from February 1, 1951 to October 13, 1952.
Marvin also worked with his wife, Aggie, at Aggie’s Restaurant.
He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on June 16, 1973 when he joined the New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Lodge #1835. He earned his Fellowship Degree on June 30, 2007.
Marvin and Aggie came to Moosehaven on October 11, 2006 where he resided for 8 years.
Memorial Services held Thursday, March 5, 2015 at 2:00pm in the Moosehaven Chapel. Services conducted by Rev. Gerald Nordsick of Advent Lutheran Church, Orange Park, Florida and Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Lodge.
He is survived by his wife Aggie Merriam, Moosehaven resident, Orange Park, Florida and son, David Merriam of New Symrna Beach, Florida, stepdaughter, Donna Jewell of Melbourne, Florida and stepsons, Douglas Jewell of Melbourne, Florida, Dale Jewell of Keystone Hts., Florida and David Jewel of Bellvue, Washington and a sister Marlene Norrod of New Symrna Beach, Florida.
