Ruth Ann Wheeler

Ruth Ann “Randy” Wheeler, 91, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away March 14, 2015. She was born on April 2, 1923 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Conrad & Blanche Toms Cutler. Ruth Ann came to Fleming Island from Buffalo, NY in 2007 and was a member of the Orange Park United Methodist Church. She was a master bridge player, a socialite, a lifelong member of Delta Gama Sorority and enjoyed time reading or time with family and friends. She was a long time member of the Women’s Board of Kaleida Health and volunteered at the Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital all in Buffalo, NY. Ruth Ann graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English from Miami University in Ohio and was a medical librarian for twenty years at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Walter Edwin Wheeler. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Ruth Ann is survived by her son, James Walter (Sandra) Wheeler; daughter, Joanne Ford (Joel) Reed; and grandchildren, Jeffrey, Lynne, Alicia, Marissa and Brian. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2015 at the Orange Park United Methodist Church with Reverend Pearl Boles officiating.
