James R. "Jim" Sharpe, Jr.

James R. “Jim” Sharpe, Jr., 92, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away March 26, 2015. He was born on March 1, 1923 in California to parents James and Lois Sharpe. Mr. Sharpe had served honorably in the United States Marines as a Sergeant during WWII in the South and Central Pacific areas. He had a long career in the construction materials industry and had retired from H.J. Granger & Sons in Jacksonville after over 30 years of service. Mr. Sharpe was a member of Central Christian Church and had attended Woodstock Baptist Church for many years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Jo Cronon Sharpe in 2008 and a daughter, Corky French. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy Wickless (Buz) and Sheri C. Kinnear (Jay); sons, Butch Cronon (Pat) and James R. Sharpe III (Joyce); a special nephew and caregiver, Lee Kinnear; eleven grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Hickory Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice or the charity of your choice.
