Frank Morea, Jr., 89, passed away peacefully in Orange Park, FL on April 7, 2015. He was born on July 5, 1925 in New York City to parents Frank, Sr. and Anna Morea.
He joined the Navy in 1943 and served in WWII on the U.S.S. Bronstein DE189 as a Torpedoman’s Mate First Class. After the war he was stationed in Green Cove Springs where he met and married Thelma Knight.
After his military service he worked for Southern Bell for many years after which he owned Frank’s Radio & TV and Frank’s Electric. He worked for the City of Green Cove Springs and retired from the Clay County School Board as a Master Electrician in 1990.
Mr. Morea had served as Past Master Mason of Cabul Lodge No. 116 in 1958 and was a member of the Rotary Club, Morocco Temple and The American Legion. He loved gardening, painting, reading and music (especially hymns and gospel music).
He loved his family, his country and the Lord Jesus Christ. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Mr. Morea was predeceased by his parents; his brother, Robert Morea; his first wife of 49 years, Thelma Knight Morea and his second wife of 18 years, Lee Pundt Morea.
Survivors include his daughters, Debra Donaldson (Warren) and Teri Donald (Michael); granddaughters, Leah Miller (Michael), Angelica Donald and Sylvia Donaldson; grandson, Matthew Donald; great-grandchildren, Hannah Rose Miller and Samuel Robert Miller; sister-in-laws, Jerry Williams and Glenda Knight; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 10, 2015 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with his grandson, Rev. Michael Miller, officiating. The family will receive friends beginning an hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery.
