Ruth Mitchell

Ruth Mitchell, 94, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on April 15, 2015. She was born on March 31, 1921 in Samson, AL to parents, Joseph and Emma (Wise) Eldridge. Mrs. Mitchell has been a resident of Green Cove since 1946 and was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She enjoyed her family and will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Ted Mitchell. Survivors include her son, Robert Mitchell (Eva); daughter, Jean Modlin; 5 grandchildren, Teddy Modlin (Lynn), Terry Modlin (Tammy), Chris Modlin, Michael Mitchell (Miriam) and Anissa Holestin (J.R.); 11 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 18, 2015 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Charlie Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, FL (904) 284-4000.
