Ronald Wayne McCrone, 71, of Orange Park, FL, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2015. He was born on January 17, 1944 in Jacksonville, FL to parents Clarence L. and Alberta (Aycock) McCrone, Sr. Ronald was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Catherine’s Catholic Church. He was a member of the University of Florida fraternity Alpha Tau Omega and an officer in the Life Saving Corps. Ronald spent over 45 years serving as a college football coach. He was a loving husband for 45 years, dedicated father for 42 years and a devoted Grandad for 15 years. Ronald was predeceased by his parents and his three brothers, Clarence, Jack and Thomas McCrone, and is survived by his wife, Mary Sue McCrone; son, Jeff McCrone (Danielle); daughters, Kelly Carroll (Chris) and Blair Kohlmann (Barry); sisters-in-law, Lou, Ruby and Yvonne McCrone; 5 Grandchildren, Cody Carroll, Chase Carroll, Drew McCrone, Max McCrone and Maddie Kohlmann. The family will receive friends in the Broadus-Raines Chapel on Thursday, April 23, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a prayer vigil at 7:00 p.m. led by Father Rafael Lavilla. Funeral services will be held at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2015 with Father James R. Boddie, Jr. as celebrant. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
