Arthur W. Barfield, 86, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on May 20, 2015. He was born in Munster, Texas on October 31, 1928 to Leonard and Viola (Laughlin) Barfield. Arthur has been a resident of Jacksonville, FL since 2004 coming from Pensacola, FL with his wife of 36 years, Gigi (Geisselseder) Barfield. He retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years of service and was the owner and operator of Auto Air of Florida in Pensacola. Arthur was the Secretary of West Pensacola Masonic Lodge No. 296 for many years, the General Secretary, Valley of Pensacola, Scottish Rite and currently Secretary of J. Wendell Fargis Masonic Lodge No. 356 of Jacksonville, FL. Arthur also served as Hospital Committee Chairman of Hadji and Morocco Shrine Centers. He loved golfing, deep sea fishing and his family most of all. Arthur’s grandchildren were the loves of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Evelyn Grigsby.
Arthur is survived by his loving wife; daughter Gaby Beyer (Allen) of Jacksonville, FL; and three grandchildren, Anna, Morgan and Ryan.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at 6:30pm at the Morocco Shrine Center with Chaplain Noble Sam Bennett officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the Patient Transportation Fund of Shriner’s Hospital.
