Frances Kinnear Lancaster

Frances Kinnear Lancaster, 89, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at St. Vincent’s Southside. She was the youngest daughter of Earl and Ethel Kinnear. Frances was a lifelong resident of Green Cove Springs and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs. Frances was actively involved in her community, a value she instilled in her family and others. She retired from the Clay County School Board in 1992. Prior to that, she served as a personal assistant to Sheriff John Hall for 24 years during his tenure as Clay County Sheriff and President of the Bank of Green Cove Springs. She is predeceased by her husband L.H. “Lanny” Lancaster of 46 years, sisters, Lucile Carey, Betty Harris and Posy Gibson. Frances is survived by three sons, Barry (Sandy), Larry (Dawna) and Scott (Stacie); one daughter, Joanie Bressler (Kevin); 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and a world of friends. Frances was lovingly cared for by dedicated and faithful caregivers, Faye Rollins, Randy Pugh, Kathy Allen, Annie Johnson and others. The family would like to thank Dr. Brian Stephens and staff of Little Black Medical Bag for their outstanding and loving care. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, 9291 US-90, Live Oak, FL 32060. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, June 1, 2015 at First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs with Rev. Walter Edwards, Dr. Frank Seghers and Rev. Roy Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sherman Phillips, Tom Perseo, Julian Priest, Robert Gaulding, Sheriff Joey Dobson, Eddie Eaton, David Murray and Leon Green.
