William “Bill” R. Chapman, 64, of Baldwin, FL, passed away on Friday, June 12 2015. He was born on July 18, 1950 in Green Cove Springs, FL to parents, James Thomas Chapman and Lena Mae (Ross) Chapman. Mr. Chapman worked as a police officer for The City of Green Cove Springs for many years; he later retired from the Division of Correction in Lawtey, FL where he was a Correction Officer. He was a little league coach for the Green Cove Springs Athletic Association. Billy was an avid Gator fan, he enjoyed fishing and singing with his sister. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Kelly Chapman and his wife, Irene Mobley Chapman. Mr. Chapman was of the Baptist faith and will be dearly missed by his family and many friends. Survivors include his brothers, Ernest Chapman and his wife Rachel, John Chapman and his wife Vickie and Gene Chapman and his wife Leigh; sisters, Kathy Allen and her husband Wayne and, Kay Inskeep and her husband Robert; sister-in-law, Sharon Chapman as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Reverend Bobby Baker officiating.
