Jack was born in Lincolnton, GA, but lived most of his life in Jacksonville. Jack is a graduate of Landon High School, where he played football, and after serving in the Army, he married the true love of his life, Grace, and graduated with a pharmacy degree from the University of Florida.
Jack loved his family and friends, boating, lake life, and tailgating with the Gators. Jack’s businesses included the wholesale drug businesses of Jax Drugs, Lockwood Drugs, Homed Pharmacy, and he was involved in real estate and the computer industries.
Jack’s positive encouragement and great smile will be missed by so many. He was very devoted to his family and friends. Jack knew he was blessed in life and willingly shared his blessings with others. His home and his heart were always open. While our hearts are broken, our memories are smiling.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Legacy at St. Johns for their total devotion, love, and care given to ‘Mr. Jack’ in the past few years, and as he was leaving this world. He knew that you loved him and he loved each of you, as well. You were a blessing to Mr. Jack and his family – we think of you as his angels on this earth.
Per Jack’s request, there will be no funeral, but the family will celebrate his life privately. Memorial donations can be made to Community Hospice, any ‘no kill’ pet center, or the charity of your choice.
