Beloved husband, father and friend, Raymond K. Smith, 78, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away July 26, 2015 after a 5-year battle with cancer. He was born on July 9, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Duane and Lillian (Porter) Smith. Early on in life, Ray graduated as First Captain from New York Military Academy, and later received a finance degree from New York University. Ray worked in the financial services industry throughout most of his life, most recently as Regional Vice-President for Bank of New York. He moved to the local area in 2002 from Morristown, NJ. He had been a founding President of the Association of Western Management, Director of the Pacific Stock Exchange and in his free time enjoyed golf, boating and was the former Treasurer for the Jacksonville Boater's (Sea Ray) Club. Ray was always happiest on the water on his boat, Four of Hearts, and working on little projects at home with his family. Survivors include his wife, Marianne and his children, Dan and his wife Kaya, and Peter Smith. Ray will always be remembered by his many friends and family for his love of life, his laughter, kindness and generosity to all those he loved dearly.
