Tommy Joe Adkins, Sr., 74, of Interlachen, FL passed away on, Wednesday, October 14, 2015. He was born on July 1, 1941 in Hinton, West Virginia. Mr. Adkins honorably and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He moved to the local area, with his family in 1982 from West Virginia. Mr. Adkins will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother Ethel Mae Adkins Gross, brother’s Michael Gross and Jim Gross. He is survived by his wife, Linda Adkins; children, Tonya Lilly (Randy), Tonia Adkins, Tommy Joe Adkins, Jr., Felesia Sharp (Jimmy), Dana Adkins and Joe Adkins; step-children, David Charles, Ricky Charles, Alan Ingram, Michael Ingram, Wendy Ingram and Robert Johnson; brothers and sisters, Phyllis Manderscheid (Don), Shirley Cobaugh (Chuck), Dixie Bennett, Ronnie Gross (Margie), JoAnn Burks, Pearly Gross, Darlene Laudig (David), Jerry Gross, Billy Gross and Lola Willis; 25 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 24 nieces and nephews as well as many cousins and other family members and friends. The family will receive friends between 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Sunday, October 18, 2015 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Congregational Holiness Church with Reverend Ronnie Surrency officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery in Green Cove Springs, FL. Please sign the family's online guestbook at www.broadusraines.com.
