Harold "Hal" S. McGay, Jr., 89, of Penney Farms, FL, passed away October 23, 2015. He was born on December 9, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Harold and Viola (Kilduff) McGay, Sr. Hal was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy. Most of his career was spent in the investment field. He managed the Philadelphia regional office for Salomon Brothers, as well as worked with Merrill Lynch in Miami, PNC in Philadelphia, and other investments firms in New York.
Hal was very involved in community and career organizations. Clubs include: The Bond Club of Philadelphia (President), The Union League of Philadelphia (Glee Club and Blue Anchor Table), The Philadelphia Securities Association, The Maryland Society of Pennsylvania (Present), Osterville Men's Club. Hal also served on several boards, two of which were the Agnes Irwin School and the Keystone AAA (now Midatlantic AAA). Church membership included St. John's Presbyterian, Devon, PA; Cotuit Federated Church, Cotuit, MA; West Parish of Barnstable, West Barnstable, MA; and First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs, FL.
Hal was an avid bridge player, boater, fisher, and golfer. He enjoyed his golfing trips with the Bunkers and the Hackers groups. He and his wife Jean also enjoyed traveling. Favorite trips included Italy, the British Isles, Canada, Hawaii, and France. Their last trip was a cruise in the Caribbean with their good friends Sandy and the late Pete Geiger.
Hal will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jean N. McGay; children, Robert McGay (Connie), Douglas McGay, Ginger Clark (Marion), Tracie Wilson (Grant) and Donal McGay (Valentina); 20 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, October 25, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church of Green Cove Springs with Rev. Mark Hults officiating.
