Raymond Nicholas Chapman Jr

Raymond Nicholas Chapman Jr, 78, born August 13, 1937 to parents Raymond Nicholas and Mary A. (Scannell) Chapman Sr. in Manchester, NH passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on November 10, 2015. He attended St. Anselms College and Saint Marys Seminary. Nick retired as a LCDR in the US Navy after proudly serving for 23 years. He became Director of Clay County Health Department and was former President of Florida Public Health Association. Nick worked for SME Team Watson at General Dynamics Information Technology. Nick is preceded in death by his parents and his son, Nicholas Chapman. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Chapman; children, Maureen White, Kathleen March (Dennis), Eileen Thompson (Ted) and Greg Chapman; 12 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held on Wednesday, November 25, 2015 at 12:00pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 7190 Highway 17 South, Fleming Island, FL 32003. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment with full military honors will follow at 2:30pm at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
