Walter Hertzog Snyder

Walt passed away November 12, 2015 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 95. He was born to Daniel and Aquila Snyder on September 6, 1920 in Reading, Pennsylvania. Walt was a WWII Veternan serving on the USS Indiana as a fire controlman second class. He received the WWII victory medal, Asisatic Pacific ribbon with 12 stars, Philippine Liberation with one star. Walt married Norma Berger on April 17, 1946. They had a son, Raymond. He was a Supertendent for Kutztown Shoe Co retiring in 1982. Walt became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on August 1, 1988 when he joined Vinton, Virginia Lodge #1121. He came to Moosehaven on August 2, 2000 where he resided for 15 years. Memorial Services will be held at Forest Hills Memorial Park, Reading, Pennsylvania at a later date. He is survived by his son, Raymond (Joanne) Snyder of Troutville, Pennsylvania.
