Roberta passed away March 31, 2009 at 11:45 AM in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 89. She was born to Herbert and Edna Dusett on April 20, 1919 in Flint, MI. Roberta married John Black on March 15, 1937 in Flint, MI. He preceded her in death in 2001. They had two daughters Nancy and Judy. Judy preceded her in death on March 2, 2004.She was employed by Red-Bud Hospital in Clearlake, California as a registered nurse where she retired in 1986. She enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and Bingo.Roberta became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in October, 1973 when her husband joined Clearlake, California Lodge #2284 she joined the Clearlake Chapter #1262. She was very active and received the College of Regents Degree. Among some of their fondest memories at the lodge was in 1987 when they celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Roberta came to Moosehaven with her husband John on August 24, 1989 where she has resided for 19 years. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2001. John passed away the day before their 64 Wedding Anniversary. She is survived by a daughter, Nancy Ketterman of 4072 Bluegrass Dr., Lake Havasu City, AZ, 5 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 1 great-great granddaughter, and one sister-in-law, Fran Venning of Moosehaven and many nieces & nephews. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at 2:00 PM. Please sign the family’s online register book at www.broadusraines.com.
