Robert E. Bartz, 77, was born into Heaven on November 21, 2015 following a brave battle with Parkinson’s. While born in Joliet, Illinois on November 16, 1938, he believed himself to be a true southerner after moving to Florida in 1972. Bob was a dedicated and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. While construction and building energy and power plants was his passion, family was his greatest treasure. He lived a full life and took great pride and joy in the accomplishments of his children and grandchildren. As a published author, he always had a pen in hand and was ready to help map out a college schedule, prepare a business plan, offer management strategy or draw cartoon faces on placemats. He loved football, playing in high school and college and coaching. Bob was instrumental in the organization of the youth athletic league in Port St. Lucie, Florida. Bleeding red and grey and blue and orange for his Ohio State Buckeyes and Chicago Bears, he never missed a game. He believed in a solid work ethic as evidenced by his 20 years of service to Florida Power and Light. Bob is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marianne and their children, Kathy (Jack) Clanton, Scott (Laura), Michael (Trish), his grandchildren, Chris (Brittney), Whitney (Dan) Cox, Isaac Stevens (Ashley, who he joins in Heaven), Lauren (Andrew) Hayes, Mackenzie, Victoria, Madison and Bailey; Great Grandsons, Landon, Jackson, Jaxson, Nolan, Colton and Nathon. A private memorial and celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring Street, Green Cove Springs, FL 32043. 904-284-4000.
