William "Bill" Merritt Raulerson, Jr., 78, of Middleburg, FL passed away December 26, 2015. He was born on May 15, 1937 in Raiford, FL to parents William Merritt and Lois Ethel (Anderson) Raulerson, Sr. Bill lived in the area for 49 years coming from Raiford, FL. He was of the Christian faith and a member of Black Pond Baptist Church. Bill was a Vietnam War veteran who sailed around the world three times while serving in the United States Navy from 1955-1985. He received the military sharp shooter award and was a Naval Ball coordinator in Australia. Bill was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, President of the Enlisted Men’s Club, a member of the Freemasons and a Scout Leader for Troop 312.
Bill is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Weakland Raulerson; sons, William “Sparky” Merritt Raulerson, III, James Michael Raulerson and John Russell Raulerson; daughters, Peggy Jean Raulerson Kalynych, Lynn Renee Raulerson Aston and Tina Louise Raulerson Sutherland; 29 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Black Pond Baptist Church, 3644 Old Jennings Rd., Middleburg, FL 32068. Rev. Charlie Hunt will officiate.
