Mrs. Dean Robbins Barton

Mrs. Willodean “Dean” Robbins Barton, age 78, wife of Travis O. Barton of Green Cove Springs, passed away after a brief illness in Orange Park, FL on April 10, 2009. Devoted wife, mother, grandmother, co-worker and friend, Mrs. Barton moved with her family to Clay County from their Alabama home in the 1950’s. She has since worked in real estate in the Orange Park area for many years. Until her death, Dean was associated with ERA John Gray Realty in Orange Park. Those privileged to know Mrs. Barton have praised her loving, gentle nature, her devotion to family, her unselfishness and her unfailing integrity in every phase of her life and work. She was predeceased by her younger son, Timothy J. Barton of Green Cove Springs in 2003. Survivors include her devoted husband of 57 years, Travis Barton of Green Cove Springs; her son, Dudley Barton, his wife, Terri Brewer Barton and their children and grandchildren of Winston, GA; her brother, Charles Robbins and his wife, Polly of Jasper, AL; sister-in-law, Myrtle Weakley, her children and grandchildren of Boldo, AL and her brother-in-law, Arlen Barton and his family of Bowling Green, KY. . The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Sunday, April 12, 2009 at Broadus-Raines Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, April 13, 2009 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Mr. Barton’s nephew, Pastor Ronnie Barton of Daytona, FL officiating. Interment will follow in Hickory Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Gray, Bob Grismer, James McCullough, Paul Mays, Thomas Ellis and Jocqwin Bush. We who loved her have lost a treasure on earth. May God grant her treasures in Heaven. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, 5851 St. Augustine Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
