Edward Francis Pelkey

Edward “Ed” Pelkey July 28, 1930 – January 12, 2016 Ed passed away January 12, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 85. He was born to John and Conchita Pelkey on July 28, 1916 in Laurelton, New York. Ed was a Veteran serving his country honorably in the United States Navy. He married Shirley Walker in 1962. They had a two daughters Shannon and Kelly and one son Anthony. He later married Mary Lane on June 19, 2009 at Moosehaven. Mary preceded him in death on November 3, 2012. Ed was self-employed as a Hairdresser. He enjoyed making ceramics and selling them in the Moosehaven Gift Shop. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on March 30, 1977 when he joined the Essex, Maryland Lodge #70. He received his Fellowship degree on August 16, 1986. Ed came to Moosehaven on June 13, 2001 where he resided for 14 ½ years. Funeral Services held Thursday, January 28, 2016 in the Moosehaven Chapel at 1:30pm followed by interment in the Moosehaven Mausoleum. Services conducted by Rev. Helen Taylor and Officers of Opportunity Lodge. He is survived by son, Anthony Pelkey, daughters, Shannon and Kelly Pelkey.
