Evelyn “Mike” Howe
November 1, 1932 – January 24, 2016
Evelyn “Mike” Howe passed away peacefully on January 24, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 83.
She was born on November 1, 1932 in Washington DC to parents Floyd Webster and Lillian Louise (Skidmore) Michael. Mike married Jerome Howe on December 18, 1954. She was a computer Tech for Sears and retired in 1988.
She became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when she joined Luray, VA Chapter on March 14, 1988 but later transferred to Timberville, VA Chapter #2022. Mike was a Past Regent, a Star Recorder and received her Academy of Friendship on March 3, 1991 and College degree July 5, 1997.
She came to Moosehaven on February 14, 2006 where she has resided for almost 10 years. Mike enjoyed sewing and doing crafts in her spare time.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome on October 6, 1988. Mike is survived by her son, Glen Howe and daughter-in-law, Cheri of Tallahassee, Florida. She has a sister, Betty Brown of Fredericksburg, VA. She has three grandchildren, Scott Howe of Lynchburg, VA, Kristen Logan of Atlanta, GA and Glynda Arroyo of Deltona, FL as well as seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 1:30 pm in the Moosehaven Chapel with Pastor Sean Loftis of Calvary Chapel, Tallahassee, Florida and Reverend Helen Taylor officiating with Officers of Opportunity Chapter. Entombment will follow in the Moosehaven Mausoleum.
