Joseph Thomas Banks

March 28, 1928 – February 6, 2016 Joe passed away, 2014 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 84. He was born to Edward and Ruby Banks on March 28, 1928 in Martin, Tennessee. Joe married Lucile Dunn on August 30, 1952. They had a daughter, Marlene. She preceded him in death on December 26, 2008. After arriving at Moosehaven, Joe met Dixie Brunsfeld and they married on April 6, 2011. He served in the Navy during World War II. Joe was a overhead crane operator for Union Rolls Corp. retiring in 1990. He became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on June 16, 1973 when he joined the Valpariso, Indiana Lodge #1357. Joe came to Moosehaven on January 5, 2010 where he resided for 3 years. A memorial service will be held in his memory in Valparaiso at a later date. He was preceded in death by his brother Edward Banks of California and by his granddaughter, Brianne Banks. Joe is survived by his wife Dixie Banks, Moosehaven resident, Orange Park, Florida and daughter, Marlene Hardenand her husband Jim; he is also survived by 2 granddaughters and 2 grandsons.
