James Leon Durbec, Jr., 84, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away March 9, 2016. He was born on November 25, 1931 in Jacksonville, FL to parents James Leon and Frances Hazel (Smith) Durbec, Sr. James was a Vietnam War Veteran, proudly serving his country in the United States Air Force before retiring. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs and loved his church. James was tough as nails, loved motorcycles and all animals. He is preceded in death by his parents: his wife, Louella “Sissy” Durbec and his brother, Fred W. Durbec.
James is survived by his daughter, Patricia Ann St. Martin; brothers, Jack A. Durbec and Frank Steve Durbec; sister, Audrey Jolly; grandchildren, Johnny, Angie, Jessica and Donnie and numerous great-grandchildren and nieces.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 16, 2016 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor David Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until service time. Interment will follow with full military honors at 1:30 pm at Jacksonville National Cemetery.
The First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs will have a coffee and pastries reception at the church for family and friends from 8:30am to 10:00am the day of the service.
