Walter Milligan, 68, of Middleburg, FL passed away April 28, 2016 in Orange Park, FL. He was born March 2, 1948 in Charleston, SC to the late Walter Simmons and Emily Milligan Richardson. He was educated in the public schools in Charleston. He entered into Holy Matrimony on October 30, 1991 to Callie Lightsey. Walter was a chef, a comedian and jokester and had a nickname for everyone. He always had a smile to share with anyone that needed one.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Callie Lightsey; sons, Darrell Brown (Bernadette), Michael Brown and Ricky Deloach (Melissa); daughter, Danyel Powell; sisters, Gloria Washington, Pamela Simmons, Iona Simmons, Pernell Milligan and Pearl DeVeaux; brothers, John Milligan, Walter Simmons, Jr., Reginald Simmons and Horace Richardson; special cousins, Myrtle Chisolm (Jerome), Dorothy Rose (Richard), Barbara Hampton, Raleigh Milligan, Harry Goff, Edward Capers, Ruby Mazyck (James), Manning Milligan and the late Frank Brandon (Saundra); aunt, Janie Milligan; 13 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews and many friends and extended family members. Funeral services will be held in the Broadus-Raines Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016. The family will receive friends beginning one hour prior to service time.
