Cbell Stroud Elder

Cbell Stroud Elder of Kingsley Lake, FL went home to her heavenly Father on May 24, 2009. She was 90, born on March 13, 1919 in Andalusia, AL. The eldest of seven children born to George Washington and Ab Worley Stroud, she was married to the late Emmett O. Elder for 53 years. Mrs. Elder was a homemaker and a member of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church where she served faithfully for 56 years. She is survived by four sons, Kenneth J. and wife Marilyn Elder of Jacksonville, FL, Larry O. and wife Connie Elder of Hendersonville, NC, Drs. Phillip R. and wife Sharon Elder of Phenix City, AL and Donald M. and wife Carolyn Elder of Kingsley Lake, FL; 9 grandchildren (a tenth preceded her in death); 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild and her sister, Martha Rayfield and husband G.J. Ward of Evergreen, AL. A memorial service was held May 27, 2009 at Kingsley Lake Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Robbie Best and Rev. Dan Hughes.
