Margaret Lydia Darnell

Margaret Lydia Darnell, 80, of Green Cove Springs, FL passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016. She was born on March 7, 1936 in Welch, WV to parents Howard L. and Gracie May (Mullens) Mullins. Mrs. Darnell moved to the area in 1955 from West Virginia. Margaret was of the Baptist faith and a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She loved volunteering for Charles E. Bennett Elementary and Lake Asbury Elementary in the art class for 14 years. Margaret also enjoyed working in the yard. Mrs. Darnell loved her family, friends and loved the Lord. She had never met a stranger and cherished time spent with her husband and family. Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Margaret is predeceased by her parents and sons, Baby Darnell and Clifford D. Darnell. She is survived by her husband, Howard L. Darnell; sons, Montie L. Darnell (Renee), Terry A. Darnell and Steve R. Darnell (Tammy); daughter, Pamela E. Darnell; brother, Virgil L. Mullins (Mary); half sister, Betty Roberts; nine grandchildren, Susan, Tara, Melissa, Montie, Jr., Clifford, Jr., Billy, Paul, Matthew, Adam; twelve great-grandchildren; two nieces, two grandnieces and one great nephew. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Broadus Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, June 4, 2016 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Pastor Charlie Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Penney Farms Cemetery.
