Robert Wayne Hanson

Robert Wayne Hanson, 76, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away after a long illness on June 5, 2016. He was born on May 26, 1940 to parents William and Dorothy Earle (Johnson) Hanson. Robert came to the area in 1959 from Gainesville, Florida. He served his country honorably in the United States Coast Guard. Robert retired from Conrad Hawkins Chevrolet after 30 years of dedicated service earning numerous awards. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed playing cards and bingo. Robert had a love for all animals especially his basset hounds. He is predeceased by his parents and brother, James C. Hanson. Robert is survived by his wife, Judy Oates Hanson; son, Joseph Hanson, his wife Tina and granddaughter, Isabella Hanson of Orange Park, Florida; sisters, Judy Strickland Liedtke and husband Will and Brenda McNeil and husband David all of Jacksonville, Florida; brother-in-law, Bill Strickland and wife Lynn of St. Augustine, Florida; sister-in-law, Marsha Hanson of Gainesville, Florida and six nieces and nephews. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 12:30pm with Dr. Tim McDaniel officiating.
