Esther W. Thornburgh, (95) formerly of Chardon, Ohio passed away at her home on May 28, 2009. She was born in Melrose, MA on May 23, 1914. She graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1935 and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Green Cove Springs, The Jacksonville Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni Association and was a patron of and enjoyed the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra. She was the wife of Geauga County educator Rex W. Thornburgh who was a former Principal of Chardon High School from 1955-1965 and Director of Secondary Education for Geauga County. She is survived by four children, Suzanne Dale Morris (Nicholas) of St. Augustine, FL, Dr. Tom Thornburgh (Gail) of Bethesda MD, Kathleen Dale Thornburgh of Green Cove Springs, FL and Mary Beth Thornburgh also of Green Cove Springs, FL; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She will be laid to rest with her husband in Huntington, WV surrounded by her family.
