Jeanette passed away June 17, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 80. She was born to Herman and Hazel Powers on May 19, 1936 in South Norfolk, Virginia. Jeanette married Howard Mathias on June 12, 1970. She was a loving wife and homemaker. Jeanette enjoyed bowling and fishing. She became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on July 20, 1977 when she joined Chesapeake, Virginia Chapter #694. She later transferred to Portsmouth, Virginia Chapter #966. She received her Academy of Friendship on May 6, 1979. Jeanette came to Moosehaven with her husband Howard on June 27, 2007 where she has resided for 9 years. Funeral Services held Thursday, June 23, 2016 at 10:30 am in the Moosehaven Chapel followed by burial in the Moosehaven Mausoleum. She is survived by her husband Howard Mathias, a resident of Moosehaven, Orange Park, Florida, sister, Marlene Middleton of Albertville, Alabama, brother, William Herman (Sandy) Powers of Norfolk, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.
