Theresa Dampier “T.D.” Howie, 92, lifetime resident of Jacksonville, FL, died July 12, 2016, after a brief illness. She was born in Jacksonville on February 9, 1924 to parents Horace Steve Dampier, Sr. and Pearl Daisy Poston. She had graduated from Andrew Jackson High School, class of ’42. T.D. was a member of Arlington United Methodist Church for over 60 years, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and The Daughters of the American Revolution. She had been a resident of Selva Marina (Atlantic Beach) for over 40 years, was an avid golfer and a diehard Florida Gator. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel T. “Sam” Howie; brother, Horace Steve Dampier, Jr., and stepdaughter, Jean Babcock. She is survived by her devoted, loving family, daughter, Robbie Lockwood Rodgers (Bob), of CA; son, Gary E. Lockwood (Keith) of Jacksonville; step-daughter, Ann Hankinson (Gary) of FL; grandchildren, Jennifer Renee Goins (Gary) of CA, Scott Single (Noelle) of CA, Brandy Coleman (Zac) of Jacksonville, Kai Hankinson (Heather) of CA, Heidi Lynn (Jim) of FL and Sean Hankinson of CA; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Ethan, Michael, Alex, Mia, Kaiden and Piper. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2016, at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207. Dr. Tim McDaniel will officiate. Following the service, the family is having a celebration of life at Brookdale Southside, 9601 Southbrook Dr. Jacksonville, FL 32256.
