Margaret L. Baumann

February 15, 1923 — August 3, 2016

Margaret passed away peacefully on August 3, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 93. She is survived by sons, Phillip of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, William Church of Enterprise, Alabama, and daughter, Barbara DeNamur of Cincinnati, Ohio. Margaret had 23 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. She was born on February 15, 1923 to parents Oscar and Madeline (Charipar) Brown in Detroit, Michigan. After high school Margaret worked in a factory working on B-24 bombers during the war. She also did janitorial work at Holly Spring Plant and clerked at the Holly Bakery. Margaret married Carryl A. Church June 2, 1945. They lived in Holly, Michigan. He preceded her in death on July 12, 1979. They had two daughters, Marjorie (Cummings) and Barbara (DeNamur) and two sons, William (Jae) and Phillip (Pam) Church. Marjorie preceded her in death in 1993. Margaret married Paul Baumann on December 12, 1987. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1995. Margaret was a wonderful mother who was very proud of her family. She will be deeply missed by all her loving family and friends who were always good to her. The family rule was that they were not allowed to swear around one another. Margaret joined the Catholic Church in 1964 after attending mass and training her children in the faith for 18 years at St. Rita’s Catholic Church in Holly, MI. Margaret loved getting her hair and nails done and getting together with her friends. She enjoyed baking, writing letters/cards, bingo, Jacksonville Jaguars football and Detroit Tigers baseball. Her special love was sending cards to all her grand and great-grandchildren. Margaret became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when she joined Holly, Michigan Chapter #1168 on December 1, 1960. She received her Academy of Friendship on April 30, 1972 and College degree on June 2, 1979. Margaret joined the Orlando, FL Chapter #1002 in fall of 1979. Margaret came to Moosehaven on June 18, 2009 where she has resided for 7 years. Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at 3:30 pm in the Moosehaven Chapel. Services conducted by Father Tony Basso and Officers of Opportunity Chapter. She will be laid to rest in the Moosehaven Mausoleum at a later date.
