Clayton E. Revels

Clayton E. Revels, 86, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away peacefully in his home with his family by his side on August 29, 2016. He was born on April 8, 1930 in Mayo, FL to parents Clayton and Thelma (Long) Revels, Sr. Mr. Revels was the owner of Revels Chrysler-Plymouth in Green Cove Springs; Revels Chrysler-Plymouth Dodge in Starke and Revels Nationwide RV Sales in Green Cove Springs and Jacksonville. He was a member of First Coast Baptist Church and was on the board of the Baptist International Missions. He pastored for 15 years in Clay County and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Moody Revels; son-in-law, Mark Brown; brother, J.P. Revels and his sister, Gwen Keen. Survivors include his daughters, Rhonda Revels Brown of Georgia and Trina Revels Baker (Rick) of Green Cove Springs, FL; brother, Jack Revels (Vivian) of Green Cove Springs, FL; sister, Kay Harrison (Jim) of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughters, Melissa Hildebrand, Melodie Wimberly, Melinda Edgy and Chelsi Baker-Shaw; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Thursday, September 1, 2016 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, September 2, 2016 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Gary Wimberly officiating. Interment will follow at Hickory Grove Cemetery.
