Margaret (Peggy) Emily Scott, 92, a native of Jacksonville, died Sunday, September 4 after a brief illness. She graduated from Stetson University and Southeastern Bible College and was a missionary in Ghana, West Africa for 32 years. Over the years she held various positions in Ghana including editor of the church press, Sunday school coordinator, and nurse's assistant at a maternity clinic. She was much loved by her family here, and by her church family in Africa where, over the years, many babies were named for her.
She is survived by her brother, William Winfield Scott of Atlantic Beach and Tifton, GA and his wife Sarah, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved Ghanian friend Janet.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 310 S. Oakridge Ave., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043 with Rev. Russell Franklin officiating. The family will receive friends in the church from 10:00 am until service time. The graveside service will be held at 3:00 pm at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32207.
