Maxine passed away September 19, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 90. She was born to Wesley and Rilliah Fugate on May 12, 1926 in Fayette County, West Virginia. Maxine had two son’s Jerry and Roger and two daughters Sue and Nancy. She worked as a CNA in several nursing homes and as an in home care giver until she retired. Maxine was a Taurus in every sense she loved to be the life of the party. Maxine loved to tell dirty jokes, she loved to stir up trouble and ride the waves! She also loved people. Whether it was finding shoes, clothes, jobs, or helping people find lost family members. In her community, she was the go to person. Just ask Maxine, she will know how to do that, find that or fix that! That was Maxine. Maxine became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose on October 12, 1995 when she joined Daytona Beach, Florida Chapter #1019. She came to Moosehaven on March 22, 2016 where she has resided for 6 months. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and her oldest son, Jerry Allen Ferrell. She is survived by her son Roger Lee Ferrell of Edmonds, WA and daughters Sue Ann Grass of Orange Park, Florida and Nancy Karen Ferrell of Dallas, Texas. Maxine was also blessed with nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren. Maxine always kept a poem in her wallet “Don’t Cry For Me”, we would like to share it with everyone, Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there. I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow. I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sunlight on ripened grain. I am the gentle autumn rain.
