Joseph Gallina, 70, of Middleburg, FL, passed away September 27, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1946 in Tuxedo, New York to the late Joseph and Claris (Conklin) Gallina. Mr. Gallina came to Middleburg 35 years ago from New York. He loved fishing, gardening in his green house and being a truck driver. He wanted so much to just get back on the road. Mr. Gallina was a supportive and loving family man, who was in charge of making Thanksgiving dinner each year, which he took great pride in. He grew up making molds, statues and figurines. Mr. Gallina built his home with his own hands as well. He is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Timothy Erdman.
Mr. Gallina is survived by his adoring wife of 35 years, Sharon Gallina; son, Glenn Gallina (Crystal); daughter, Michele Cernigliaro (Christopher); sisters, Kathy Ostrander, Roseanne McLaughlin (Jerry), Joanne Thomassen (Brian) and Diane Fusco (Phil); brother-in-law, Adam Erdman (Wendi); grandchildren, Chloe and Hailee; and his golden retriever, Rusty. A graveside service will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, November 4, 2016 at Jacksonville National Cemetery with military honors conferred.
