Robert E. Sweat

Robert E. Sweat, 70, of Green Cove Springs, FL, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009. He was born on September 16, 1938 in Green Cove Springs, FL to parents, Thomas and Mabel Sweat. Mr. Sweat had worked for the Clay County Road Department and had served his country in the United States Navy. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking and will be dearly missed by his loving family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sister, Joyce Arbuthnot. Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Joan Sweat; children, Victoria (Richard) Mann and Thomas E. (Cindy) Sweat; brother, Lorell Sweat; sisters, Leona Hobbs and Mildred Waddell; grandchildren, Justin Tomlinson, Jessica Lopez, Bradley Sweat and Wendy Monk; great-grandchildren, Elijah Lopez, Addilee Lopez, Dyson Monk and James Tomlinson and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, July 11, 2009 in the Broadus-Raines Chapel with Rev. Charlie Hunt officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel beginning at 10:00 am.
