Donald "Don" Messer

Donald “Don” Messer, 78, of Middleburg, Florida passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Don was born on April 12, 1938 in Harlan, Kentucky to parents Willie Messer and Lavita Sowders Messer. He spent most of his life in the North Florida area and loved riding his Harley and watching NASCAR.  He cherished his family and loved time spent with them. Don is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Mark Wilkins. He is survived by his best friend and wife, Lillian “Lorraine” Carter Messer; son, Donald Messer, Jr.; daughters, Stacy Biscotti (David) and Lacy Reynolds; sisters, Jean and Wanda, four grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. A graveside service with military honors will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
