Laurette "Laurie" M. McAnaney

Laurette “Laurie” M. McAnaney, 90, of Fleming Island, FL, passed away October 28, 2016.  She was born on February 21, 1926 in Brooklyn, NY to the late William and Clara (Rapp) Pope.  Mrs. McAnaney was a homemaker and a parishioner of St. Michaels Catholic Church in Poway, CA.  She was a volunteer for 25 years at the Palomar Hospital in Poway, CA.  Mrs. McAnaney enjoyed bowling, bingo, playing cards and games like Scrabble.  She had a strong competitive nature and liked to have fun.   Mrs. McAnaney raised 5 children and said she was “very lucky and blessed with a good life”.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, David McAnaney.  Mrs. McAnaney is survived by her sons, David McAnaney (Anne) and James McAnaney; daughters, Claire Duskin (George), Diane Conlan and Laurie Selleck; 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  She will be laid to rest, with her beloved husband David, at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, CA at a later date.  Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.broadusraines.com.  Arrangements are under the care of Broadus-Raines Funeral Home, 501 Spring St., Green Cove Springs, FL 32043.  (904) 284-4000
