Rosa Saudade

Rosa Saudade passed away July 21, 2009 in Orange Park, Fl. at the age of 91. She was born to John and Margaret Pires on February 13, 1918 in Hornell, NY. Rosa married Arthur Saudade on May 3, 1941 in Fall River, MA. He preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by a daughter, Eileen Dennis of Brandon, FL and granddaughter Donna Ried of Chapel Hill, NC. Rosa was employed by Fanny Mae Candy as a candy maker and retired in 1982. She became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in December, 1967 when she joined College Park, MD Chapter #1262. Rosa was very active and earned her Academy of Friendship on May 3, 1970 and her College of Regents on June 23, 1974. She was a Past Deputy Grand Regent for Maryland 1971-1972. Rosa became a member of the 25 Club on December 1, 1982 and sponsored 150 members in her lifetime. Rosa came to Moosehaven on August 21, 2001 where she resided for 7 years. Memorial Services will be held Monday, July 27, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Moosehaven Chapel with burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River, MA.
