Donal "Don" Merritt Partridge Sr., 86, born February 25, 1930, in Jacksonville to Merritt Ingersoll and Ada LaBaron Partridge, passed away November 13, 2016, doing what he loved best, playing on his back hoe. Don was a 4th generation water well driller with Partridge Well Drilling, which began in 1892. He was the President of PWD for 44 years, from 1948 until he retired in 1992. After retirement, he came in every Tuesday morning to make sure the legacy of Partridge Well Drilling was being carried out. He also enjoyed working around his ranch. Most of all Don enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his wife of 21 years, Doreen, whom he considered his soul mate. He was a Master Gardener, long time member of the GCS Rotary Club, Clay Cattlemen’s Association as well as several water well drilling professional associations. Don was well respected in the community. He is survived by his loving wife, Doreen Gentry Partridge, children, Diane Partridge Soha (Howard), Linda Partridge Alderson (Nick), and Donal "Pat" Merritt Partridge, Jr. (Lorrie). His grandchildren, Nicholas Ryan Alderson (Lauren), Ellen Alderson Weaver (Patrick), Donal "Merritt" Partridge, III (Kasey), Lance Moyer Partridge (Alexandra) and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many step children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Don's family honored him as their patriarch.
