Linda C. Tank of Fleming Island, Florida, wife of J. Robert Tank, died Monday, November 14, 2016 in Orange Park, Florida. Mrs. Tank was born on April 29, 1943 in Concord, New Hampshire, daughter of the late John H. Clemons and Christine W. Clemons. She grew up and graduated high school in Middlebury, Vermont and attended the University of Vermont. Prior to relocating to Florida in 1996 Mrs. Tank was a longtime resident of Glastonbury and Farmington, Connecticut. Her interest in travel lead to a career in the travel industry where she earned her CTC designation. In addition to extensive world travel, she owned/managed Avalon Travel in Glastonbury and was very active in the business community having served terms as President of the Glastonbury Chamber of Commerce and The Business and Professional Women's Club. Linda was also a passionate advocate of the mentally handicapped. Locally she was a strong supporter of the Fleming Island Library and served as President of the Friends Group. She was an active parishioner at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Green Cove Springs and a member of the Jacksonville Corvette Club. Mrs. Tank is survived by her husband, a son and daughter-in-law Richard H. and Jill K. Tank of Windham, Maine; a special needs daughter Stephanie K. Tank of Prospect, Connecticut; and her brother Brian S. Clemons of Lyman, Maine. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:30AM at St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 400 St. John's Avenue, Green Cove Springs followed by a reception in the parish hall.
