June Lillian Blackman Strang

  June passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on November 17, 2016 in the Moosehaven Life Care Center at the age of 89.   She was born on June 5, 1927 to parents George and Elma (Robins) Blackman in Oil City, Pennsylvania.   June married Gordon Strang on March 20, 1945 they had four children, Mickey, Mike, Carla and Elena.  Gordon preceded her in death on   She became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose when she joined Sarasota, Florida Chapter #1968 on May 13, 1970.  She received her Academy of Friendship Degree on January 1, 1974 and was a Past Regent on May 1, 1999.   June was very proud of her family.  She enjoyed people and was a friend to many.  She loved to play bingo and participate in many other activities offered at Moosehaven.   June came to Moosehaven on February 5, 2013 where she resided for 3 years.    Funeral services will be at a later date at the Palms Memorial Cemetery, Sarasota, Florida.   June is survived by sons Mickey(Dottie) Strang of Swanzey, New Hampshire, Mike Strang of Seagrove, North Carolina and daughters Carla Young of Sarasota, Florida and Elena Johnson of Seagrove, North Carolina, grandson Marshall Strang of Venice, Florida and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.   Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.broadusraines.com.
