Richard Larson

Richard Larson passed away Wednesday, July 22, 2009 in Orange Park, Fl. at the age of 73. He was born to Fred and Evelyn Larson on March 19, 1936 in Newark, NJ. He moved from Newark to Menlo Park, NJ and then to Ft. Lauderdale and then to Sebastian FL. His last years were in Moosehaven, Orange Park, Fl. Richard married Barbara Kennedy on February 20, 1960 in Bayonne, NJ. They divorced on August 16, 1977. His next marriage was to Patricia Hundley on April 29, 1978. She preceded him in death in 1988. He then married Lois Martin on August 27, 1989. She preceded him in death in 2003. Richard had three children, Richard, Michael and Linda Larson. He had six step children, Gary, Chris and Todd Hundley, Linda Ziegenfelder, Sheryl Solberge and Leah Solberge. He worked as a painter for Manor Pines and retired in 1996. He loved to fish and look to enjoyed watching the sunrise on the river each morning. Rich became affiliated with the Loyal Order of Moose in December, 1979 when he joined the Sebastian River Lodge #1767. He was a Navy Veteran, a lifetime member of the Disabled Vets and a member of the American Legion. Rich and his wife, Lois came to Moosehaven on March 13, 2002 where he resided for 7 years. He was only here for a short time but he had a good time and as Rich like to say “Keep Smiling” Memorial Service will be held Friday, August 7, 2009 at 1:00 PM in the Moosehaven Chapel by Rev. Helen Taylor and Opportunity Lodge. Military honors will be conferred at the service. He is survived by his sons, Michael Larson of Sebastian, FL, and Richard Larson of Deerfield Beach, FL. and a daughter Linda Larson. Six stepchildren Greg, Chris, and Todd Hundley of Knoxville, TN, Linda Ziegenfelder of Virginia Beach, VA, Sheryl Solberge of Madison, WI and Leah Solberge of Detroit, MI.
