Jeanette Manfredonia Youngblood

Jeanette Manfredonia Youngblood, 91, of St. Augustine, FL passed away December 21, 2016. She was born on July 17, 1925 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Seraphin and Mildred (Cantaloupe) Manfredonia. Jeanette came to Jacksonville in 1955 from Brooklyn and was a parishioner at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She moved to 840 Juno Beach in 1972 and attended St. Paul’s Catholic in North Palm Beach FL. After her devoted husband, Charles, passed away in 1983, she resided at 101-G Sea Oats in Juno Fl. She then spent 13 months under her son’s Jacques and her daughter Jeanette’s care in North Carolina, before moving to St. Augustine to be with her daughter, Dorothea. Jeanette previously worked for Cenvill (Century Village) in West Palm Beach, keeping the books for the clubhouse and recreation department. She received her business training at New York University in a college-career work program with the personnel and accounting departments at Abraham and Strauss Department Store. She also worked as personnel manager of Neisner Department Store. After her husband, Charles, graduated from St. John’s U., she decided to move south to raise her 4 children in the Deep South: Jacksonville! Had two more sons Kevin and Terence while living in Jacksonville. Now, added to the last count for the family, are 10 grandchildren…..all girls! She loved travel, going to Italy and was a devoted wife and mother. Jeanette especially enjoyed volunteer work, participating with youth organizations and working with the cerebral palsy and the Red Cross. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Louis Youngblood III and her siblings, Savery S. Manfredonia, Ferdinand Manfredonia, Sr. and Concetta Dorothy Manfredonia. Mrs. Youngblood is survived by her brother, Joseph Seraphin Manfredonia, M.D.; children, Charles Louis Youngblood IV, Jeanette Youngblood Cottone (Paul), Dorothea Youngblood Lucas (James), Jacques Seraphim Youngblood (Esther), Kevin James Youngblood (Mary Ann) and Terence Edward Youngblood (Janet); granddaughters, Melissa Cottone Black (Mitchell), Rachel Cottone Dempsey (Patrick), Sherrie Lucas Baggett (Michael), Jamie Lucas Bond (Wes), Lisa Lucas Edwards (Jamey), Sandra Youngblood Watson (Adam), Therese Youngblood Roberts (Kevin), Alison Youngblood, Julie Youngblood Malinski (Matthew) and Marilyn Youngblood Whitmore (Christopher) and great-grandchildren, Hailey Lucas Wynn, James Tyler Omlor, Hannah Dorothea Edwards, Samantha Grace Baggett, Wyatt Reid Baggett, Collins Cottone Black, Noah Paul Black, Emma Ruth Dempsey, Finnegan Paul Dempsey, Charles Seraphim Youngblood, Savannah Tester, Nathanial Tester, Mary Roberts, Victoria Roberts, Jonathan Roberts and Ella Roberts.
